The Norfolk Island Pine is native to Norfolk Island, East of Australia. This evergreen tree offers lush, green color and soft to touch needles. Place in a well lit area with some direct sun offering slight humidity or misting daily to keep plant hydrated. Commonly offered during the holidays but can be grown year-round.
Light: Place in a well lit area providing 1 or 2 hours of direct sunlight each day. A south or west facing window is ideal.
Temperature: Enjoys cool temperatures between 50-75 degrees F.
Water: Water regularly keeping soil lightly moist at all times.
Nutrients: Feed monthly with a balanced plant food. Spray twice yearly with a micronutrient spray.
Soil: A regular potting mix that drains well. Add gravel at the bottom of pot for extra drainage and to help weigh it down.
Repotting: Repot young plants yearly increasing the new pot by 1 inch. Once plant matures to a 12-inch pot repot every 3 years. Roots are fragile so, handle gently when repotting.
