Mandevilla

Native to the Southwestern United States, Mexico, and other areas, the Mandevilla thrives and excels well in our summer heat. This plant is easy to care for and produces large, bright flowers.

Light: Full to part sun outside during the summer. As much light as possible during the winter if over wintered.

Temperature: Warm temperatures are ideal. Temperatures below 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit will need to be covered or brought indoors.

Water: Make sure to water regularly providing a deep soak, keeping soil moist, but not soaked or dripping wet.

Nutrients: To generate new growth and blooms use a controlled release fertilizer like Osmocote during the Spring and Summer months. No need to fertilize during the winter.

Soil: Use a well-drained potting mix ideal for containers. Always select a container with drainage.

Container Design: Ideal for growing in patio pots as a Thriller plant on a trellis or in the ground on a garden trellis. This plant also fills out creating a lush, tropical feel with large foliage.

Deadheading: No deadheading required. Blooms will naturally fade and fall off.

Happy Planting: This plant is a vigorous climbing plant and will make a dramatic statement in the garden, patio, or balcony. Continue to wrap new growth around a trellis for a full-looking plant.
