Peace Lily
not as toxic as other Lilies, not considered poisonous, but can be bothersome to pets if ingested
The Peace Lily is native to Indonesia and Central America. They are commonly used in offices or malls because they are easy-to-care-for. It offers deep, green, shiny foliage with tall stems of white cup flowers. This plant can help purify your homes by removing several toxins from the air. Provide moderate light and feed properly for a successful blooming period.
Light: Provide bright indirect light during the Spring/Summer. Reduce light to moderate during the Fall/Winter.
Temperature: Average room temperature between 65-75 degrees F year-round is suitable.
Water: Always keep soil slightly moist. Avoid overwatering or foliage will start to droop and look sad. Use average room temperature water.
Nutrients: Feeding your Peace Lily is key for blooming. Feed monthly with a balanced houseplant fertilizer at half strength from Spring-Fall. Feed every 6 weeks during the Winter.
Soil: Any good potting soil is great. Choose a mix that will drain well.
Repotting: Repot every Spring to freshen up soil. Increase only a few inches because this plant likes to be slightly rootbound.
Deadheading: Remove spent or browning blooms to keep plant looking neat. Cut off at the base of the stem.
