Marigold
Marigolds are drought tolerant annuals offering various style flowers, all blooming in bright colors of red, yellow, orange, or white. They excel as bedding plants for mass plantings and in containers. Use in hot areas where other plants struggle. Marigolds have been known to repel rabbits, deer, and mosquitos. They are also great companion plants for vegetable gardens. Give the Marigold a try and you will be pleasantly surprised on how well this plant performs in the garden.
Light: Plant in full sun to part shade, providing at least 5-6 hours of sunlight for best performance.
Water: Water regularly allowing soil to dry slightly between watering. These plants are drought tolerant so they are more hardy in hot, dry conditions.
Planting: Marigolds excel in containers and grounds beds. They add wonderful color and texture to patio pots with other sun loving annuals. Planting in mass in a ground bed creates a sea of warm color. Add to a vegetable garden to attract pollinators to pollinate your vegetables.
Deadheading: Deadheading is recommended. Keeping up on deadheading faded or spent flowers will help promote continued growth and production of new blooms.
